Knee Length Boots get cut!

Hi Guys! So I have this knee length boots that I wore maybe two times since I bought it. It's my fault really, I live in a tropical climate country so why in the h*ll did I need any knee length boots for?! unless you are a cosplayer certainly hehehe... So the boots only sit on my shoe rack since I dont know when, Then I have crazy idea to just cut it! When I took the boots, its all covered in dust and I smelled something.. I realize its become my two kitten litter box!hahaha.. So I wash it first.. and then get it cut.. If you want to know how I done it.. here's the process

I just cut it into the desired length. And with glue gun  glue the boots by folding it to the inside, but first I tuck the lining to the bottom so it wont get glued. After the boots all glued, then glue the lining by folding it on top of the glued boots so the lining will hide the raw cut. And.. it was done.. well it's still a blank canvas for me.. I'm thinking of many ideas of how I will accessories my boots.. with lace trim, little belts, or leather fringe.. hmmm I don't know yet.

So.. What will you accessories them with? tell me in the comment

Instagram wall art with ribbon hanger

Hiya guys! Instagram is very popular lately, so I made an instagram look a like for our pictures. Why look a like? because these photos not from instagram. I edit it in Photoshop and turn it into  4x4" size, then I digital print it in our local print shop on a 260 gr Artpaper sheet. This ribbon hanger could be use for hanging your printables too.

Here's how I did it..

you'll need:

  • 4x4" photos

  • carton, I bought it on our local office supplies store. I bought the 2 mm thickness, if you want it thicker you'll need a heavy duty hole puncher.

  • hole puncher

  • cardstock paper or fabric, I used a handmade recycle paper

  • ribbon

  • scrap paper (optional)

  • regular glue

  • glue gun

Steps:

1. Cut you photos 2. For the base I used carton that I cut 14x14" size, because it's quite thin I layered the back with another carton but leaving the spot where I want to punch hole on it 3. to cover the base I used handmade recycle paper, could you see the texture? :) 4. Then I used scrap paper for hole punches space ( you could really skip this part is up to you), mark the spot where you want to punch then punch it with hole puncher 5. Then I arrange the photos, and start gluing it on from the bottom 6. Slip your ribbon through the hole leaving enough ribbon to make a bow, Miu helping me with this one 7. make a bow! 8. glue the bow with glue gun. And you're finish! make a lot of this and start cover your wall with it haha

Hope you like it :)

Lace trim shorts

The story behind this shorts is.. it wasn't a shorts before, it was a 3/4 pants with yellow stained all over it! I made it a shorts and bleach it to get rid of the stain. Too bad I dont have enough lace trim coz I want to make this a lace shorts, so for now I just add lace trim on the bottom.

I just handstitches the lace trim, it's more time consuming.. But in order too follow the lace pattern then handstitching was the only way. For now this is my lace trim shorts, when I buy enough lace trim I will cover the shorts with lace someday.

Paint Old Shoes

This morning I decided to do shoes make over. I have this old white flat shoes, the faux leather were all crack its hideous I almost got rid of it. Its in the garage for...like forever.. So I bought some acrylic paint (Maries) and all surfaces permanent marker (Faber-Castell) and start bring another life to my shoes.

I covered my work area with plastic because I'm so clumsy I'm very sure I will  make a mess. I did at least three coats of viridian color acrylic paint and for the bow and the list area I mixed two color, viridian and burnt sienna and it made an olive green color.

Deni draw the motives with permanent marker. I love the end result, Its totally looked different. I will wear it on date night with Deni

DIY Fabric Little Box

Hi Guys! I want to show you how you could reuse your perfume box. Im a craft supplies hoarder (made my husband having migrane because of it) so it's  good to have a cute storage for my supplies. So here is it..

You'll just need  perfume box or  milk carton, cute fabric (I used scraps), glue (PVA or mod podge), scissor, interfacing (optional, if your fabric is too thin), button, fosm lining or dacron.

How To:

1. cut your box into the size that you want. 2. because my perfume box is tall, it made my inside box small. So I change the orientation of the box (see picture no.2).

3. cut it for the box and for the lining too, I end up used two perfume box and you can cut the fabric now to size. 4. shape your box and glue it. 5. use masking tape for the side. 6. glue the lid

7. Here is my already cut fabric, I add interface to it. 8. now you can glue the fabric to your box.

9. for the lid before I glue all the side I inserted two foam lining to it, or you could use dacron. 10. I covered all the outer box. Before I glue the lining I stitch a twine for the button to the lid, I recommend you use an elastic band because it would be easier when closing the lid to the button.

11. glue the lid lining. 12. and the inside lining. 13. Stitch or use a glue gun to attach the button.

you could use it as a sewing box and the top can be your pins cushion.

Or maybe a jewelry box! The possibility are endless, it's up to you. Have fun

Repurposed Wrapping Paper

Hi Guys.. I'm hosting a gathering party at my house for our community ladies in our neighbourhood this Sunday. I dont have to do anything really, except open my house for the gathering. But I want to give them something. So I made a favor bag from old wrapping papers and inside I will pack some sweets (I'll make it on Sunday, and will post the recipe for you).

So here I have the template that you could download

Favor Bag Template Download

So lets get to it

How To :

1. print the template and use it to cut your paper 2. Score the fold lines with bone folder or an empty pen 3. Cut the holes with puncher (not pictured) then fold all the tabs 4. Glue the tabs and start shaping it into a box 5. To close the top of the box, simply press the side together 6. Using ribbon or twine, tie the top of your box.. And you finished

Hope you like the idea

DIY Project Gone Ugh

I saw lots of tutorials to draw your design directly to your porcelain dish with markers over the internet and decided to just make one. Lots of the tutorials used Sharpie marker, so I hunt one over the office stores.. But unfortunately Sharpie wasnt sold in my country, so I try another permanent paint marker that could use in any surface...

Then I tried it.. just a simple typo "Mon Amour" on a mug that I intended to give my husband.. First sketch that I did was already a dissapoinment.. It's smeared! but then I tried to fix it with a cotton bud and it turn alright. Then I bake it like all the tutorials instructed too.. Although it doesnt said on the marker.. But still I want to know the result..

Waaakkk.. It melted! It stained all over the mug and  the pan.. Hikzz.. But despite the melting,  the typos not gone.. Its just faded a little.. So my heart not entirely broken (thats too over reacting isnt it)..

So with all that tragedy.. I still have the urge to show you the result.. and maybe you could tell me how's it looks like

Is it fixable?

DIY WEDDING PHOTO ALBUM

Finally I'm working on my wedding photo album for our moms. It's been 3 months since our wedding (what have I been doin?!)
I totally forgot actually, and then my mom ask for it. Sorry mom, I've done it! I'm sending it tomorrow.

Here is what I made

Sorry for the blury image. I make up to you with how I made this lace photo album.

I made it with: Linen paper; carton; lace; foam lining; piece of plastic; thread; scissors; cutter; ruler; brush; glue.

1. prepare all the material, I already cut my linen paper into the size that I wanted 2. Fold it half 3. stack it and then binding it by gluing the side, clam it with clams or stack it between thick books 4. While waiting the glue to dry, cut the carton for back and front cover, a little less wide than the linen paper, my linen paper is 11.7 x 16.7 cm and my carton is 11.7 x 15.7 cm.

5. Cut a little rectangle where ever you want your cover photo to be, mine on the the right corner 6. Then get your foam lining and cut as same as the size of the carton 7. Glue the lining to the carton, and cut where the rectangle is with scissor 8. Cut the lace much bigger than the carton.

9. Glue the lace to the carton and a piece of plastic at the back covering the rectangle. Also glue your cover photo on the linen paper, dont forget to measure it first 10. Glue the lace carton to the linen paper, you are half done. for more durability I want to add stitch binding to it, I add two holes by punch it with nail and hammer 11. Then I stitch it with packing needle and thread, if You have embroidery thread then use it. I dont have it so I use lots of thread and stitch it over and over 12. All done! You can add embelishment or you could cover the binding area with lace or linen paper, up to your creativity.

Deni draw the inside with a fish and a lamb illustration because I'm a Pisces and He's an Aries. Cute! Now just add your pictures to it. Have fun

Dress Hacked

I found a nice DIY maxi skirt in Sincerely Kinsey. I'm using her method to hack my old asymmetric tie dyed dress. I bought this dress cause it has a cute tie dye print on it, but it doesnt fit nicely on me.. It made me looked pregnant!

So this tutorial is perfect for this dress.

[caption id="attachment_322" align="aligncenter" width="450"] Before[/caption]

You'll need a short, an old flowy dress or you could use a fabric like Kinsey did, a sewing machine, a scissor.

First I fold the dress in half and then I cut it right under the arm pit.

The bottom will be my skirt. And it will be a midi skirt

Then I pin it to the bottom of the short. For the complete tutorial go to Sincerely Kinsey: Prairie Skirt DIY

This is what it looks like after fimished..
