Craft for kids

For school holiday, I want to give my little visitor some creative activity. So I teach her how to make shrink plastic charm. I let her draw on a white shrink plastic. the pencils smudges and very hard to clean, the erasers wont do the job, tried acetone too.. Nope, it's still there haha if you know the solution please share :)

We bought a plain t-shirt and with fabric marker Deni draw the baby, and I did the writing. Qaiser, that his name. And I wrapped it with couple of  things inside a brown bag (made it), and just loop couple of string ribbons.I know, the string ribbons bow are not to neat haha make a bow is not my thing.

Eraser Stamp Carving

Yay! finally I made my first eraser stamp, it’s so popular these days. Unfortunately in my country there’s not much tools available specially made for rubber/eraser carving. There’s no carving block nor the carving tools, well.. we have carving tools but there’s no size 1 for detail like the speedball or staedler has.

Luckily my friend gave me this vintage carving tool that has small size although it’s not size one, and I think it’s intended for a different media like wood. But there’s a say here in my country “tak ada rotan, akar pun jadi” literally means “there’s no rattan, then root it is” which meaaans we could use everything available that we have to make it happen.. So I make it happens.

Here’s some of the stamps that I made

coffee hi logo please send to

I'm addicted now, and purchased online for a carving block so I could make a bigger design. I learned many things these past few days and I will share it on my blog.. So stay tune

Carton Box Table

Hiya guys! its pretty much silent here in my blog right.. Well I wanna share you what I did for my new room..  I study in another city so I rented a small room (just a room and a little bathroom) although It's only 2 hours drive hehe but because I live on a small city where I could go just anywhere for 15 minutes, so 2 hours drive kinda beat me up haha.. Anyway I need furnitures to fill my room, and because I only live there for temporary, buying any is not really an option for me.. So I made this "coffee table" from a carton box from my fan packaging box.

I made this by just wrapped and glue down the carton box with brown paper, I made a cross from a cardboard to stabilize the inside although it still wont hold heavy things but just holding drinks or a laptop it still okay :), I covered the sides with patterned paper and then I mod podge it.

hehe  its messy in the inside, sorry :P

Now I just need lots of cute cushion.. :)

Weaved Notebook

Hi Guys! I got a task from my lecturer and he wants our task to be well designed or at least have a hardcover binding, and because I have a handmade paper goods shop.. why not I just made it by my self. Haa!

Here's how I made it..

Supplies:

  • old magazine, brochure or pamflet

  • cutting mat

  • cutter knife

  • glue

  • cardstock

  • sewing machine or needle and thread

  • embroidery thread

  • nail and hammer for punching holes

Steps

I made the base cover with cereal box that I cut to the size that I wanted. Then with the magazine strips (I cut about 2 cm wide) adhere it to the side (column) and the top (row) of the box, and then continue adhere the column (but just on side that touch the top row) until the box all covered.

With the column all glued, start weaving all the way down.

When you finished weaving, trim all the excess from the back so you know where to trim.

You could trim the corner so it curve, but I just leave it as it is.

I made the title cover with cardstock and then I stitch a frame with my sewing machine. Then I adhere it to the notebook.

Then I start the binding by clam the notebook with paper clip, so it nice and steady when I punch a hole with nail and hammer

I punch holes about 1.5 cm from the side. start from the center of the notebook by measure half from it size. after I found the center then measure half from the left side. And do the same for the right side, I got 7 holes from my measurements.

Then with embroidery yarn I then binding the notebook. Again start from the bottom center as on the 4th hole, down the 3rd hole loop to the side the up the 3rd hole, down the 2nd hole loop the side then up the 2nd hole, down the 1st hole the loop the side and the top then up the 1st hole and so on by checking which part you miss.. Ask me if you need a detailed binding tutorial. And you done!

Hope you like it. :)

DIY Mini Note Book

HI Guys! How are you? so long since i've post anything.. Im busy with our new Paperon product, so hoping I could show them right away.

So today im going to post my mini note book project, I made it with company notebook that I have lay around.

If you wanna make it, here's how I done it

First gather your materials:

  • a notebook or you could make from printing paper cut in half and fold and stapled in the center

  • white glue

  • kraft paper

  • paper doily

  • permanent marker

First I cut a company notebook to a size that I wanted, then I glue the binding with white glue and clam it with paper clip and let it dry. Then for the note book cover I made it from a cereal box.

Then with a kraft paper.. well actually mine called samson paper so it has a lighter shade but it similar to kraft paper, cut slightly bigger than the ceral box cover. Then glued the paper to the cereal box cover.

I made a drawing with a doily paper, then stenciled with a permanent marker, you could use any color you want.

Fun right! :)

Then glue the excess to the inside.

After all dry. I glued the note book paper to the cover.. Press until it dry.

I covered the inside with a cardstock

Yay! It's done. Im gonna put any ideas I got in there.. :)

Lace Sleeves T-Shirt

God I miss blogging! haha.. my internets been down for several days now,  so I cant logon to my wordpress.. I'm desperate and want to know what's happening in my blog so I'm blogging in an internet cafe now hahaha.. Dont like it, I like a calm environment when I blog.. But I wanna share my recent DIY to you guys.. I have a thing with lace nowadays so I hacked my t-shirt and here is my process, It's not a step by step though

It's very simple.. First I take off the t-shirt sleeves with seam ripper, I open the sleeves and I used it as a pattern for my lace sleeves. Just fold the sleeve in half and put on the lace, also fold in half.. And cut it.  Then stitch the lace sleeves to the t-shirt. And It's done! How's my new t-shirt looked like? Hope you have nice weekend
