Hello Bali

Eraser Carving Stamp Workshop

I was having a workshop last couple of weeks, and it's my first time teaching workshop out of town and it's very exciting. The workshop was held on a Handmade Movement event in Jakarta, actually I forgot my carving tools but fortunately I have enough cutters for the students to use, fiuuh. There's bloody scene too because some of my students accidentally cuts them self , (note to my self to bring band aids on workshops).

New Stuff

 

Printing feathers and skeleton tree and made it into cushions. This is my first large printing, maybe I do textile line someday :)


 

And PaperOn will be at crafty days #8 tobucil on Bandung, 8-9 February. Maybe we'll meet you there.

Despite of heavy rains, major leaking and  flooded.. The event is great! I got to meet great other crafters from in and out of town, watch great music performance, make new friends and got some cute stuff.

PS Paperon will be at the Toys and Games Expo, at JEC Yogyakarta from 7 - 8th December on booth 7.

Craft Carnival #3

Yippie! Paperon will be on the Craft Carnival #3. If you happens to be in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, please do come by to Indiecology cafe, Sagan and say hello. There will be lots of crafty goods that you could buy and interesting workshops that you could join.

Fair Love

Paperon is participating in the first Vredeburg Fair here at Vredeburg fort museum Yogyakarta (yay). I'm not alone, i'll be with another great crafters that have joined the Indonesian crafter Yogya Region community, because that is the theme of the fair "Museum and Community". There will be workshops everyday from Indonesian Crafter community and I will be on the friday 25th, I will be teaching on how to make stamps from trash such as styrofoam take outs and toilet paper tubes. So if you happens to be near by, please come and say hi to us :)

Paperon bakal berpartisipasi dalam Vredeburg Fair yang pertama yang diadakan di Beteng Vredeburg Yogyakarta. Paperon ga bakal sendiri tapi bareng-bareng crafter lainnya yang bergabung di komunitas Indonesian crafter reg. Jogja, sesuai dengan temanya yaitu "Museum dan Komunitas". Dan setiap harinya bakal ada workshop - workshop keren dari komunitas Indonesian crafter dan workshop Paperon ada di hari Jumat tanggal 25 Oktober, nanti Paperon bakal ngajarin caranya bikin stamp atau cap dari bahan sampah (mendaur ulang) seperti bekas bungkus makanan styrofoam dan tube tisu gulung. Jadi kalau lagi di Yogya jangan lupa mampir ya ke Vredeburg fair tanggal 23 - 27 Oktober.



 

Paper Cutting

So one day I had nothing to do, do you have those days when your creativity seems blocked but you want to do something anyway. Well I just scrolling through my instagram (it's @arq_den in case you want to check :P) I follow this guy @cooperscuts he is a paper cutter artist, well I dont know what he's called I just called him that :D anyway this guys works are amaaaazing, always drop my jaw when I see his works. So I kinda feeling inspired and start making this..

 

Certainly mine was not as good as him, lots of clumsy cuts here and there. But I like the out come, and I incorporate the method to my mini handmade notebook.

Shrink Plastic Jewelry

I got new toys to play with these past few days, some shrink plastic! yay! This is my first time to work with shrink plastic because it's not a common craft material in my country, so when I found it on Daiso.. I kinda shriek. Shrink plastic it's kinda difficult to handle, it's smudge when I draw it with pencil and I have a sweaty hands so my plastic kinda dirty, but I used kneadable eraser for artist so it cleans it out for sure. It's kinda fun watching the plastic twirls around in the oven, and that flats back and firm like some kind of magic. I love this stuff! I have experimented and have made bunch of cute jewelry.

Museum Festival 2013 Update
